Did you go to school to paint this good?

Lol, no school can teach someone to paint this good! Schools are like programs on a computer, they can give you certain skills/abilities, but its up to the person to practice and use those skills correctly.

I guess I should have rephrased my question and been more direct, thank you!

Here let me retry: Would it be worth my money and time to go to school and study art, or is just understanding that I need to practice lighting, line control, anatomy, etc enough to become better at art.

But you pretty much answered my new question by telling me that they give you the skills that you must practice, and as far as I know, the majority of tutorials online do the same as a school for art.

Thank you Nyobakugan!  ^^

Haha, don't get me wrong, further schooling is a great way to refine what you know and see where you place with your peers. It's just that, like you said, deviant among other sites have tons of tutorials to get you to that point.

For a second, the top right looked like he had a meat cleaver, which would have been kind of awesome.

I've never seen anyone work like this. These are some vague steps, but you can see how each step adds more details. It's really cool to see you go from a rough sketch to the final work.
